Free-agent running back Adrian Peterson is looking for his next NFL home.

While rattling off a list of potential destinations, the former NFL Most Valuable Player failed to grasp that the Rams now play in Los Angeles as opposed to St. Louis.

Here is Peterson's quote on ESPN's "NFL Live" recently:

"Obviously, I've mentioned Houston a couple times. I feel like Green Bay wouldn't be a bad look, as well. Carolina. There's some options out there. You know, Miami. Down there in St. Louis. That would be a nice look, too, with Todd Gurley.

"You see around the league they have a two-back system. Guys are really not pounding the ball 20, 30 times a game, so I think that leaves the door open for a couple opportunities for me."

For the record, Peterson has faced off against the Rams in the Gateway City on four occasions in his career, as well as once in London. The 33-year-old has never played a game in Los Angeles in his NFL career.

The Rams feature Gurley as their primary running back while Malcolm Brown and rookie John Kelly are also on the roster.

Gurley had a monstrous season in 2017 to lead Los Angeles to the NFC West title, becoming the first Rams player to win the AP Offensive Player of the Year award since Marshall Faulk in 2001.

The former University of Georgia product led the NFL in touchdowns (19), points scored among non-kickers (114) and scrimmage yards (2,093) in addition to finishing second in rushing yards (1,305). He also topped the league's running backs in receiving yards with 788 and his average of 6.1 yards per touch was the best in the NFL.

The Arizona Cardinals released Peterson on March 13.

Ranking 12th on the career leading rushing list with 12,276 yards, Peterson is three yards behind Faulk and 36 shy of Jim Brown at No. 10.

Peterson rushed for more than 1,200 yards in seven of his 10 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, including a career-best 2,097 in his MVP campaign in 2012. He also rushed for 97 of his 99 career touchdowns with the Vikings.

Minnesota declined to pick up Peterson's option for the 2017 season and he signed a two-year contract with the New Orleans Saints last April. He saw sparse action with New Orleans but racked up a pair of 100-yard games for the Cardinals and finished as the team's leading rusher with 448 yards and two touchdowns in six games.
