The Philadelphia Eagles finalized a new contract for running back Darren Sproles, signing the 34-year-old to a one-year deal worth $1.415 million, the NFL Network reported on Friday.

The contract reportedly includes $1 million in total guarantees, including a $400,000 signing bonus, and is worth a maximum of $1.433 million with included incentives.

"I know when we signed Darren, everyone in the building is excited," Eagles Executive Vice President of Football Operations Howie Roseman said. "The owner (Jeffrey Lurie) is excited, the coach (Doug Pederson) is excited. The offensive coordinator (Mike Groh) is excited. The special teams coach (Dave Fipp) is excited. The vice president of player personnel (Joe Douglas) is excited. Dom's (Eagles vice president of team security Dom DiSandro) excited.

"He's just that kind of guy. It's fun to have Darren Sproles as a player on your football team."

The Eagles did not re-sign Kenjon Barner, who replaced Sproles after he was lost for the season because of a broken arm and torn ACL sustained on the same play in Week 3 last season, so Sproles is expected to regain his job.

Sproles, a three-time Pro Bowl selection as a kick returner, has 8,350 yards and two touchdowns on kickoff returns, and 2,792 yards and seven scores on punt returns in 13 NFL seasons.

In addition, Sproles has amassed 3,366 yards and 22 touchdowns rushing, and has 532 receptions for 4,656 yards and 30 touchdowns.

Sproles' 19,155 all-purpose yards in his career rank eighth in NFL history and he is only 25 yards behind Steve Smith for seventh and 35 behind Marshall Faulk for sixth.

The San Diego Chargers made Sproles a fourth-round pick (130th overall) in the 2005 NFL Draft, and he played six seasons with the Chargers and three more for the New Orleans Saints before being traded to the Eagles in 2014.
